House builder chases housing association work

Kent house builder Simon Wright Homes has launched a housing association division.

The firm has sold a site of 67 units in Maidstone to South-east of England housing association Town and Country Housing and will now carry out the building work. It will put up 67 one and two-bedroom apartments.

Chief executive Simon Wright said it was expanding its offices in Larkfield to house the new division.

Mr Wright added: “Our decision to develop a housing association division is three-fold; we recognise the need to help people get onto the housing ladder, we have access to land and the ability to find sites and we have the team to build the sites to the standard required by the RSLs.”
