House of Commons £5m refurb

The House of Commons is looking to upgrade its press office in a £5 million revamp at the Palace of Westminster, central London.
Contractors are invited to tender for the deal which will cover the refurbishment and restructure of its press area. Work will include overhauling offices across four floors covering 600 sq m, the kitchen and dining facility and relocating the library.

Construction will be carried out in two ten-week periods over the 2006 and 2007 summer recess periods. Work is set to be completed 15 months from the award of contract.

Up to seven bidders will be invited to tender for the deal. Firms are asked to express an interest by the beginning of November.
