Housing market 'showing signs of recovery'

The housing market appears to have turned a corner with price falls easing and activity levels rising, figures showed today.
During July the number of properties sold increased for the first time since February, while the number of people looking to move home rose for the second month in a row.

At the same time the rate at which house prices have been falling slowed to its lowest level for five months and two regions even reported price rises, according to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
