Howard tries to put flight sacking row behind him

Michael Howard will try to get the Tory pre-election campaign back on track today amid continuing fall-out from the sacking of the party's deputy chairman.
The Conservative leader will join shadow home secretary David Davis to publicise their plans to fight illegal immigration.

However, a similar launch of the party's childcare plans was yesterday overshadowed by the row about Howard Flight's fate.
