HSE cracks down on Stockport asbestos job

The Health and Safety Executive has slapped two prohibition notices on contractor G&J Seddon on a Stockport job after refurbishment work disturbed asbestos-containing materials.
The contractor was working for Stockport Metropolitan

Borough Council - also handed a prohibition - on a job to to upgrade council properties on the Offerton Estate in Offerton, Stockport.

Future work has been stopped until Stockport MBC and G & J Seddon

survey the housing to identify all asbestos-containing materials and

set up safe systems of work.
