HSE probes wall fall


THE HEALTH and Safety Executive is investigating last week's near-miss when a wall collapsed on the site of Premiership club Arsenal's new £357 million stadium in London.

Sir Robert McAlpine subcontractor Keltbray was carrying out demolition works on a post office last Thursday when a 7 m wall collapsed. Site workers escaped injury although three cars were badly damaged.

HSE inspectors were on site on Friday to look into the causes.Sir Robert McAlpine said work stopped in the affected section.

Keltbray declined to comment.
