HSE to blitz Yorkshire sites

Over 100 construction sites in South Yorkshire are to be blitzed by the Health and Safety Executive next week.

Starting on Monday (February 4) HSE inspectors will target 100 refurbishment projects in the area.

They will be focusing on work at height and good site order. Similar previous swoops in other regions have led to work being stopped on up to a third of sites.

Inspectors will launch the campaign by checking out work currently underway by Kier Northern on the former site of the Jessop Hospital for Women in Sheffield.
