Hull police to get £28m headquarters

Hull’s police headquarters are set to relocate to a new £28 million home.

The move will see a new building constructed on Clough Road, north Hull, by around 2011.

One of the main reasons for the move is because the current facility does not have enough holding cells, with just 22 available.

The new building will have 50 holding cells allowing officers to book offenders more quickly, according to local reports.
