Hunt is on for partners

BIRMINGHAM City Council is planning to extend its partnering network to cover small construction works worth £40 million in total.

Last year the council set up a partnering arrangement for major works with Wates, Thomas Vale and Tomlinson - worth an estimated £500 million over five years - which led to big improvements bringing in jobs to time and budget.

The council's general manager Steve Vickers said: 'We have just issued an Official Journal notice looking to bring firms on board to partner for jobs at the smaller end up to £100,000.'
