Hyder profits double

Profits at Hyder Consulting have more than doubled after the firm landed a host of key public sector deals.
The firm's interims for the six months to September showed pre-tax profits rocketing to £2.6 million from £1.2 million last time.

Turnover was up by 27 per cent to £80.9 million after Hyder was appointed to six of Transport for London's consultancy frameworks and carried out additional work on proposals for the widening of the M25.

The company also landed a place on the environmental consultancy framework for the Office of Government Commerce.

The deal enables any public sector organisation and private sector business working on a public contract to commission Hyder Consulting without going through a separate European Union procurement process.
