Hyder to design Chinese bridge

A team including Hyder Consulting and LD Asia Architects will draw up preliminary designs for the Yaojiang Airport Road Bridge linking Ningbo, just south of Shanghai in China with the airport.
The duo will support and advise HPDI, one of China's largest highway design institutes, in the detailed design and construction phases.

Construction of the bridge will start in early 2006, with completion due in 2008.

The new structure will have a clear main span of 200 m over the Yao Jiang River. It will carry a dual four-lane highway with pedestrian walkways at the side.
