Hydrex reveals £6.4m loss

Plant hire company Hydrex made a pretax loss of £6.4 million for the year ending December 2006.

Hydrex was bought out during the year by two investment companies, but continued to trade as normal, increasing turnover by nearly 10 per cent to £84.5 million.

During 2006, the company invested £29.1 million in new plant and machinery.

Hydrex said that while its balance sheet showed a deficit to shareholders, much of that was made up of long-term loans which will not fall due for another decade.
