Icy conditions follow widespread snowstorms

Yesterday the army was called in to help get key health care staff to work after heavy snow falls hit large parts of the country.

Five army four-wheel-drive vehicles and their drivers, from 18 Transport Squadron based in Dover, as well as soldiers from 1 Royal Gurkha Rifles, were authorised to help out in Kent.
