In Brief: Holyrood report

THE REPORT into the troubled Scottish Parliament building at Holyrood, Edinburgh, has recommended a 10-week freeze on the project to produce further design and cost plans.

Architect John Spencely's findings reveal the cost of the scheme has risen to£230 million and that it will not be finished until August 2003.

MSPs were due to vote on whether to scrap the project yesterday (Wednesday).
