In Brief: Material moves


A FRESH war of words broke out between Blue Circle and Lafarge this week as the French building materials group snapped up 20 per cent of the cement maker as its £3.65 million takeover bid rumbled on. Blue Circle bosses claim the move contravenes Canadian competition laws where both firms have significant interests in the country. Lafarge said it had been in full consultation with the Canadian authorities.
