In Brief: Noise labels plan

SOME categories of construction equipment will be subject to noise limits and most plant will have to show labels showing its noise output, following the adoption of a new EC noise directive for outdoor equipment.

Manufacturers of equipment from excavators to compressors will have to comply with noise limits by January 2002, according to the Department of Trade and Industry.
