In Brief Wembley fears

THE METROPOLITAN Police has backed Brent Borough Council's fears for spectator safety at the proposed new Wembley Stadium.

Brent has said that an increase in capacity from 78,000 to 90,000 would result in severe congestion. Now Metropolitan Police commander David Smith has written to the council supporting its concerns. Brent will announce its decision on the application on April 25.
