Victron power job

THE HALIFAX has signed a £350,000 contract with IMV Victron to supply uninterruptible power supplies and associated software to its 26 UK business centres. The system comes with a battery to supply power for 30 minutes. If mains power does not return before then, all computer file servers are shut down automatically to ensure there is no data loss.

Bridge sensors

SOLARTON is supplying the on-line measurement system for the Dee crossing being built by Norwest Holst in North Wales. The firm's measurement pods will collect structural performance data from sensors on the bridge and transmit them to Flintshire council for analysis.

THE WATER Research Centre has approved the Hattersley Newman Hender range of automatic flow-regulating balancing valves under the Water Byelaws scheme. Hattersley now has 59 products approved under the scheme, more than any other valve manufacturer, the firm claims.
