Try Group acquires Turbo Plant Hire

TRY GROUP has acquired Berkshire-based Turbo Plant Hire at a total cost of 931,500. Turbo made profits of 55,000 in the year to last June. No redundancies are expected.

Texas buys big Mac

TEXAS Group, a Manchester conglomerate, has bought McDonald Engineering, a Derby-based specialist contractor and engineer which works for the power generation, water and

refinery sectors. McDonald works on projects ranging from 50,000 to 5 million.

Ballast in talks

BALLAST Nedam, the Dutch contractor, is in talks on the takeover of Dutch builder IGB Holding. Based in Breda, with offices in Amsterdam and Hoogeveen, IGB employs 500. It has a turnover of 77 million and specialises in the health care sector.
