Asda is dispensing with the use of steel in the construction of an energy-efficient store on the site of a former cotton mill in Oldham, Lancashire. The 3,500 sq m timber frame store will be built using wood from certified sustainable forests and is likely to become the blueprint for all new Asda stores.
