Interlink JV take £445m M74 deal

Glasgow City Council has awarded a £445 million scheme to complete the M74 motorway in Scotland to the Interlink M74 joint venture.

Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering and its equal joint venture partners Morgan Est, Morrison Construction and Sir Robert McAlpine will design and construct an 8km extension to the M74 under the £445 million contract.

This extension will significantly reduce congestion on the busiest stretch of the M8 through Glasgow.
Work is expected to start on site in May and will be completed by the end of 2011.
