Interserve preferred bidder for £45m Mersey college

The £45 million construction scheme will start in February 2008

Interserve has won as preferred bidder status for the development of the new St Helen’s College in Merseyside.

The scheme involves the construction of a new college and the demolition of existing buildings. The total area to be constructed is over 17,500 m², with facilities such as a food court, a theatre, science labs, art rooms, staff rooms and administration areas.

The college was founded in 1896 and provides full and part-time higher education courses for adults and school leavers in north-west.

“This is a prime example of how we are able to work with the local community to provide new facilities,” said Adrian Ringrose, chief executive of Interserve.
