ISG secures £5.8m medical centre contract

ISG has clinched a £5.8 million contract to build a new medical centre in Bradford for Ridge Medical Practice.

Work will cover construction of a three-storey, steel frame building which will include a range of consulting and treatment rooms, minor surgery suites, a pharmacy, an 80-seat flexible lecture theatre, library and study areas and offices for the PCT.

The centre will replace an existing nearby facility the Great Horton Medical Centre.

It will occupy an historic site adjacent to a late Victorian Grade II listed villa building, which will be fully restored as part of the project and transformed into a community facility.

ISG will also renovate a further two mid-17th century listed cottages on the site, all under the supervision of English Heritage.

The project is due to start in early October with completion scheduled for summer 2009.
