Isle of Wight school revamp advertised

Isle of Wight Council is looking for contractors to build two new learning facilities at Cowes High School in a deal worth up to £36 million.

The seven year deal will be carried out over three phases. Work will cover design and construction of teaching facilities for 11-14 year olds and 14-19 year olds and demolition of the existing school which contains asbestos.

Between five and 10 bidders will be invited to tender for project which will range between £17 million and £36 million.

Firms have until 1 August to express an interest.
