JCB micros step out in Vegas

JCB is to unveil its first range of micro excavators at Conexpo in Las Vegas in March, making it the first manufacturer outside Japan to launch such equipment.

The 800 kg and 1,200 kg machines are aimed at the tool hire and landscaping sectors and can be driven through a standard doorway.

The micros feature extending undercarriages and low ground pressure for minimal damage to floors.

The company is also launching two zero tailswing minis, at 2.7 and 3.2 tonnes, which are claimed to be the first to feature a full-size cab with flat glass throughout.

JCB claims the zero-tailswing will not compromise the machine's dig depth, loadover height or reach.

'These additions give JCB one of the industry's most comprehensive mini and midi excavator ranges, ' said chief executive John Patterson.
