JCB targets tool and DIY market

JCB HAS launched a tracked dumper, as a surprise addition to its increased range of equipment aimed at taking a bigger share of the tool hire, DIY and small plant market.

The Dumpster has a load capacity of 650 kg and a 750 mm-wide undercarriage, along with ground pressure of 0.35 kg per sq cm.

The 6.7kW machine is available with standard, high-tip and self-loading shovels.

Also for the micro market, JCB unveiled the first concept mini backhoe, a 15 kW hydrostatic machine with a dig depth of 2.54 m. The machine was originally launched for use in the US, but has been floated in the UK after increased interest from European customers.

The manufacturer has also unveiled a 5 m telehandler and roof truss attachment, which allows the safe handling and placing of trusses up to 300 kg.

The jib has four settings, locked in position by a single pin, enabling the handling of various sizes and weights of truss.
