Jobs to go at Housing Executive

The Housing Execeutive is set to axe 450 jobs over the next three years in order to save money.

The body confirmed the cuts after public service union Nipsa claimed that 60 temporary workers had lost their jobs in recent weeks.

In a statement it said: “The executive is expected to make reductions in our staffing budget but has consulted with Nipsa over this.”

Head of personnel at the Housing Executive Maureen Taggart said that the cuts would affect mainly administrative and professional/technical staff but that management and supervisory roles would also be hit.
