John Laing seals £480m Polish road job

A company part-owned by John Laing and Skanska BOT has reached financial close on a £480 million project to design, build, finance and operate the A1 motorway in Poland.
Polish firm NDI is the contractor for the Gdansk Transport Company and will build the road in two phases.

Work covers a 90km road from Gdansk to Nowe Marzy in northern Poland with a 60km extension to Torum in the south. Construction is due to begin immediately for three years. The company will run the road as a concession for 34 years until 2039.
