Joist crushes man's arm

A GROUNDWORKER is in intensive care after he was crushed by a falling steel joist at an H G Construction site in Berkhamstead, Hertfordshire.

Michael Diggin suffered a crushed arm and damage to his hip and legs during the accident at the new build site at Tollgate school.

A colleague said: 'He's in a bad way and doctors may have to amputate his arm.'

The Health and Safety Executive has launched an investigation into the incident.
