Korean giant unveils green heavyweights


DOOSAN Daewoo has unveiled DX excavators ranging in size from 30 to 50 tonnes.

The machines will be available in this country in the next few months.

The series features the manufacturer's own Tier 3 emissions-compliant engines with four valves per cylinder and a new combustion system promising improved fuel economy.

Cabs are now 50 mm wider, with improved seating. The operator can also adjust the hydraulic oil f low from within the cab to optimise attachment performance.

The manufacturer is also launching wheeled loaders, promising 15 per cent more cab space and lower noise and emission levels, as well as optional electronic joystick steering.

Doosan has also unveiled a prototype of its first zero tailswing excavator, a version of its 35-tonner, which it will launch next year.
