Koreans seek a quick hitch with Anchor

A SMALL North Wales manufacturer is on the verge of a major deal with a Korean firm interested in the rights to its hydraulic quick hitch attachment, designed for hydraulic excavators.

Representatives of the Han Woo Multiquip Corporation, a branch of Daewoo Heavy Industries, have been meeting with Anchor Attachments to discuss a joint licensing deal for the companys Power Hitch.

The Power Hitch allows an operator to pick up and lock on buckets without leaving the excavators cabin.

Inventor John Donachie said the Koreans had initially been interested in a large order, to be built by the firm at its engineering works in Ruthin, Clwyd, but now preferred a licensing deal to manufacture the device in Korea.

Power Hitches are priced from 2,000 and can be used on excavators from six to 45 tonnes.
