Lafarge director leaves

CONSTRUCTION materials producer Lafarge Aggregates is to lose its long-standing managing director.

Ian Reid has been at the helm of the aggregate, asphalt and concrete producer for 13 years and will step down in April.

Mr Reid joined the company in 1975 as the sales manager for Redland Readymix becoming managing director in 1990. He steered Redland through its acquisition by Lafarge in 1997.

Current deputy managing director Dyfrig James will succeed Mr Reid on his retirement.
