Later deadline


The tender deadline for the Highways Agency's £225 million early contractor involvement scheme on the A1 between Dishforth and Barton in North Yorkshire has been extended by two weeks. Balfour Beatty/ Skanska, Alfred McAlpine/ Amec, Mowlem/Costain, Carillion/Nuttall and a team comprising Vinci, Morgan Est and Sir Robert McAlpine now return bids on August 28. The three-year project will widen 38 km of carriageway and is due to start in 2007.
