Leeds Arndale to get £2.2m makeover

Landlord Topwell Estates has been granted planning consent to carry out a £2.2 million facelift of the Arndale Centre in Leeds.

The refurbishment will include a redesign of its main façade as well as a new canopy, a rejig of the scheme's layout to create more retail space and some improvements to paving, car-parking and lighting around the centre.

The works will also bring an extra 1,115 sq m of office space to the 5,890 sq m centre in the Headingley area of Leeds, which includes a Somerfield supermarket, as well as 22 other retail units.
