Leicester Four in the queue for £18m hotel booking

FOUR contractors are pitching for an £18 million hotel deal for Swallow Hotels at Enderby in Leicester.

Amec, Bryant, Laing and Marriott, the Midlands arm of Kier, are the four contenders for the contract.

Tenders must be returned by November 15 and a preferred bidder will be appointed before the end of the year.

Work is due to start at the beginning of next year and will last for 12 months.

The scheme comprises a 210-bed hotel, restaurant, bar, conference facilities, meeting rooms and swimming pool. The 14,395 sq m, seven-storey project also includes changing rooms, fitness suite, sauna, offices, kitchens and 380 parking spaces.

Oscar Faber is M&E contractor and Curtins the structural engineer.
