Liverpool and London prison firms shortlisted

The UK Ministry of Justice has shortlisted three consortia to deliver its £1 billion prison PFI scheme in London and Liverpool.

The two new prisons will be developed at Maghull in Liverpool and Belmarsh West in South-east London.

The shortlisted consortia for the male Category B prison project are:

  • G4S, Galliford Try and Nacro

  • Serco and Skanska

  • Kalyx and Interserve

Both schemes are extensions of existing facilities and are part of the MoJ's programme to deliver 9,500 extra prison places by 2012.
