Liverpool FC’s £300m stadium could receive approval next week

Liverpool City Council’s planning committee to make final decision next Tuesday

Liverpool FC’s revised plans for its £300 million, 60,000-seat stadium in Stanley Park could receive approval next week.

A special sitting of Liverpool City Council’s planning committee next Tuesday will make a final decision.

Planning permission for a stadium had been granted but the new plans are different from the original proposals.

If the council gives approval, work should start early next year and finish before August 2010. Laing O’Rourke is favourite for the job. Further regeneration of the area is expected to follow.
