Lost payments

More than half of Britain's domestic tradesmen have been hit by 'cowboy clients' who refuse to pay their bills.

Almost a third of plumbers, electricians, carpenters and builders claim they are owed more than £5,000 with one in 20 missing more than £50,000. The problems were cited in a survey by Eagle Star Small Business Direct.
