Lovell and Kier share £35m Decent Homes prize

Lovell and Kier have been chosen to deliver a £35m Decent Homes improvement programme to almost 4,500 council properties by North West Leicestershire District Council

The five-year partnering scheme is the largest housing improvement contract the Council has awarded to date. The contract which is expected to start in October this year, is worth £17.5 million to Morgan Sindall subsidiary Lovell and to Kier.

The contractors will carry out extensive home repair and replacement works ranging from kitchen, bathroom, boiler and central heating system upgrades, to installing new doors, windows and electrical re-wiring, as part of the council’s investment in bringing the homes up to the Decent Homes Standard.

Lovell regional director Noel Adams said: “North West Leicestershire District Council has a very positive and committed approach to improving the quality of people’s homes up to and beyond Decent Homes Standard and we’re delighted to be one of the Council’s chosen partners.

“Lovell has leading expertise in delivering major refurbishment programmes such as this and we look forward to working closely with residents and the council throughout the five-year partnership.”
