Lucrative jobs boost Thomas Fish

PROFITS more than doubled last year at Thomas Fish as the Nottingham-based contractor finished a number of money-making jobs.

In the year to September 2004, Fish lifted pre-tax profits to £251,557 from £105,881 despite turnover falling £2.8 million to £26 million.

Fish said: 'Turnover fell slightly but a number of successful construction projects reached their final stages, creating a higher gross profit margin.'

With Fish gearing up to start on an £18.5 million job to turn a former BMW garage in Nottingham into flats and a £25 million housing scheme in Leicester in this financial year, the workforce rose to more than 110.
