Macclesfield college up for grabs

CONTRACTS NORTH-WEST

A CHESHIRE council has lined up three firms to price a £39 million school and college redevelopment scheme.

Interserve, Birse and HBG have all been asked to work up bids to redevelop Macclesfield College for Macclesfield Borough Council.

Work includes relocating the nearby Henbury High School to the site as well as building a special needs school.

Additional work involves building indoor and outdoor sports facilities plus a library and nursery.

Tenders go back next month with a winner due to be named at the end of September.

Work is due to start next January and finish the following summer. Adeas is project architect.
