Mainland nabs Corby deal

Kettering firm Mainland Contractors has won a £1.8 million contract to carry out infrastructure work at new station in Corby.

The firm will begin this month on the job which will involve building an access road and a transport interchange including bus area, drop-off and pick-up areas and taxi-rank. It will also oversee services and drainage work.

The station itself will be built off-site and operator Network Rail is due to open it by December.
