Mansell team rescue man from burning flat

Builders on Camberwell site save man stranded on windowsill

Three workers on a London building site rescued a man from the windowsill of a burning flat.

The trio, working for Mansell, saw a man trapped on a first floor windowsill as fire billowed out from the flat near to their site in Camberwell.

Site manager Tony Davies, handyman Vaidas Kaminskas and scaffolder Tony Bryce called the fire brigade and put a ladder to the window and helped the man to safety.

Southwark councillor, Ian Wingfield said: “I’d like to pay tribute to those who helped at the scene of this fire”. No-one was seriously hurt in the incident.
