May Gurney buys Willows Plant

May Gurney has bought utilities maintenance business Willows Plant for £4.6 million, plus another £10 million dependent on future work.

Willows works mostly for the National Grid on long-term maintenance contracts.

May Gurney already has a gas maintenance business with the National Grid. Around 30 per cent of its business is utilities maintenance.

In the year ended 31 March, Willows had pretax profits of £0.6 million on revenues of £19.1 million and reported net assets of £0.8 million.
