McFadden in admin but lives on

NEWS

ROAD surfacing specialist Tony McFadden Ltd has gone into administration but a new firm bearing the McFadden name has already been set up.

The shell company, Tony McFadden Utilities Ltd, was registered at Companies House on April 28 ? barely a fortnight before administrators were appointed to salvage something for McFadden's existing creditors.

A spokesman for administrators Menzies Corporate Restructuring said: 'A number of contract disputes led to a cashf low problem for the company.' Telephones a t Tony McFadden Ltd are still being answered but Mr McFadden was unavailable for comment.

Construction union Ucatt's London regional secretary, Jerry Swain, said: 'This sort of thing happens with depressing regularity in London as companies go down leaving a trail of debts then just reappear only days later.

'We as a union are sick of the situation and will be pushing for the matter to be raised with our sponsored MPs in Parliament to finally get something done about this.'
