Mears wins £57m social housing work

Mears has clinched two social housing contracts worth a total of £57 million.

The firm has secured 10-year partnerships with Octavia Housing and Care and Old Ford Housing Association.

The deals are worth £36 million and £21 million respectively. Both jobs are due to start in October and will cover responsive repairs and void services.

Mears said it has now secured £400 million in contract awards in the six months since it announced its full year results in March.

Chief executive Bob Holt said: “We would not achieve these levels of contract wins without the great references that we get from our existing clients.

“Our strategy, based upon long term partnerships, delivering customer excellence, innovation and investment in our people, continues to be the driver behind winning good quality contracts that provide clear and sustainable margins.”

The firm’s order book now stands at £1.7 billion.
