Mersey memorial

NINE workers killed building the Mersey Tunnel are to be honoured with a memorial more than 25 years after the project was completed.

Miner Peter Glover lost two friends in a tunnel collapse and has been the driving force behind the move.

The workers killed were: Francis Adderley, 59; Ronald Carry, 26; Bernard Glen Denness, 25; Charles Keggin, 28; John Latham, 28; Leonard Mills, 47; Jozsef Nyari, 32; Gerald Randles, 38; and Daniel Joseph Sweeney, 27.
