Middlesbrough Council shortlists two for £100m BSF

Middlesbrough Council has shortlisted two firms to design and build the £100 million Middlesbrough Building Schools for the Future scheme in north east England.

Laing O'Rourke is up against Wilmott Dixon for the work after Kier, Balfour Beatty, Carillion and Skanska were dropped from the running.

The plans include remodelling five schools, revamping one, bringing two schools onto on site and one complete rebuild. A preferred bidder will be selected in April 2008 and financial close is due later in July. JR Knowles is QS.
