Military honour

A Liverpool builder has become the first part-time soldier since World War II to receive the military cross. Lance Corporal Michael Davison, who works for his family's building firm, picked up his medal from the Queen this week after rescuing an officer amid a hail of bullets while on duty in Iraq.
