Miller and Tesco plan new Scottish store

Miller Developments will work with Tesco to develop a new 2,880sq m supermarket and petrol station is Thurso, Scotland.

Miller acquired the former Auction Mart site less than two years ago and secured planning permission for the project late last year.

Tesco corporate affairs manager Douglas Wilson said: "We are actively pursuing a development on the site and hope to be in a position to discuss this further with local councillors and the wider Thurso community in the near future."

The announcement comes just weeks after the supermarket giant purchased six Somerfield stores across Scotland, including in Orkney, Shetland, Lewis and Wester Ross.
